When God steps in for a minute and says “these are special people and I’m putting them in your life!”… um, thank you Lord! Beyond honored to call these sweet humans friends. And now I’m going to step in for a minute and say “aren’t these two the cutest?!”
We hopped out of the car to the calmest lakeside meadow field, with the softest warm breeze! It was the literal definition of the perfect setting for a picnic. I just love when we get to a location and its beautiful but the vibe is just there. Like the sun shine just feels a smidge more joyful then normal. Should I dare say its because we are sort of writing a cutie little love story through pictures and something is just in the air?!
Speaking to the ladies and gents here for just a second.
I so so often get a pre-booking concern from the ladies that they are worried about the photoshoot because the gent is going to be miserable and not want to be there. Let me just say this, I never have a gent who isn't having a good time! Quick info add: I loveeeee to tell a story through pictures. The poses I give are not stiff, “stand there like this, smile at me, okay kiss her”… No no, we are out her making a moment.
Here is a prompt example:
“Okay Chim, I want you to run away from Viv, don’t let him catch you, okay?
“Viv, don’t let her get away, you go get your girl okay?”
Then BAM. You two are literally laughing your booties off and legit in a little moment of you. Laughing, holding each other, and he’s already kissing you before I even ask him to… He has the best time. This isn’t a miserable stand still and smile situation. This is date night my friends. Schedule accordingly ;)
Okay I might also need to slightly add that photoshoots are a smidge more of a cardio workout then most people anticipate! It does make me laugh a little bit. I end up needing to space out the crazy fun poses and sneak in a few slow paced poses to help the heart rates out! These two were champs and we ready for all the cuteness.
The love between Chim and Viv is unmatched. You can evidently see how intertwined their hearts are and it was melting mine the whole time.
Viv’s birthday was shortly after we took these pictures and because this space was just so cozy and beautiful we literally came back to this location for a surprise party picnic with friends that Chim put together for Viv. Now I feel like this is definitely a memory made spot for them and that brings me all the feels!!
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my husband be excited to take pictures?
Honestly? Most of them don’t start out that way 😅
But here’s the thing, they usually leave saying, “That was a lot of fun!” I don’t expect him to know how to pose or love being in front of the camera. That’s my job. I guide you both in a way that feels natural and relaxed, so it doesn’t turn into an hour of stiff smiling.
We keep it moving. We keep it light. And before you know it, he’s laughing, pulling you in close, and realizing it’s really just about the two of you hanging out, with me third-wheeling a little bit.
And by the end? They’re pretty happy that they got a few kissing pictures in the mix and they forgot about that sweet perk! Hehe.
Do you photograph weddings in Raleigh, North Carolina?
Yes! I photograph both couples sessions and weddings throughout Raleigh and across North Carolina (and far and wide past that)! Weddings are one of the best reasons to celebrate and being on your side cheering you on is the best part of my job!
What should we wear for a couple session?
Sometimes the sweetest looks are all about coming back to the basics. The base of a creamy picture begins with a soft color. This can range from white to baby pastels - but neutrals are what ignite my soul. Think light creams, sage, butter yellow, muted blues, and earthy tans.

How far in advance should we book?
I recommend reaching out as soon as possible!
For portraits or lifestyle sessions, 2-4 months is ideal. Especially during spring and fall when dates fill quickly. I am always happy to peek at my calendar and squeeze in a date if possible but to comfortably secure your spot, there is no such thing as too early!
